The distant future

October 31st, 2007 Posted in Design

When deciding on a Halloween costume this year, I was compelled to mock my favorite folk comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, and designed a pretty-decent clone of the robot costume from Season 1 Episode 1 of FOTC on HBO. This costume was featured in their debut music video called Robots (aka The Humans are Dead). You can view the video on HBO’s website. Photos after the jump.

Here are some of the pictures (I’m supposed to be the Bret robot, btw):

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any size foil dryer accordion vent past my feet and up my legs, so I had to go without that part.

This costume was very fun to make and took me close to 9 hours (split over 2 nights). I’ll add more pictures as I get them off the digital camera.

My brother got it for Christmas last year. I think they got it from eBay. It’s a pretty neat guitar. I don’t play much at all, but he does.

Fantastic fantastic costume… me and my boyfriend went as Bret and Jemaine. Way to take it to the next level!
